Whilst Lionel Hereford was no doubt Rose&#8217;s employer and landlord, I was struck that he shared such a bond with a man named Ihlee, which phonetically put him within the rifle sights of my quest. Ernst Rudolph Karl Ihlee<\/a><\/h2>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt\"><p class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt__excerpt\">The book arrived promptly. It contained many beautiful examples of Rudolph Ihlee&#8217;s work, sumptuous landscapes from his time in the Pyr\u00e9n\u00e8es-Orientales. And helpfully it provided some detail about his origins, and his early days. Rudolph&#8217;s family had moved from Germany in the 1860&#8217;s. He was born in Wimbledon in January 1883, being the eighth of<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt__more-text\"><a class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt__more-link\" href=\"https:\/\/willimer.com\/?p=765\">More&#8230;<\/a><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n<\/li><li class=\"wp-block-post post-778 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-dads-story\">\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-top:30px;padding-right:30px;padding-bottom:30px;padding-left:30px\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-post-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/willimer.com\/?p=778\" target=\"_self\" >Part 5.
